Breaking: Gunmen Abduct 18 Passengers From Edo-based Transport Bus
In a fresh worrisome incident, Eagles Sight News gathers Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped 18 passengers traveling on the newly launched Edo Line along the Benin-Auchi Highway.
The update as published by Naija News,Eagles Sight News reports that
the victims were reportedly heading to Abuja when the kidnappers forced them into the bush before the arrival of the Nigerian Police at the scene.
A viral video circulating online shows a long queue of vehicles halted on both sides of the expressway due to the incident.
As of the time of reporting, the abductors have not yet contacted anyone to demand a ransom.
Confirming the event on Saturday, Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Iyamu, stated that 16 of the 18 passengers have been rescued. He added that police, in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters, are intensifying search and rescue operations to free the remaining passengers.
