Pastor Chris Okafor, the founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, popularly known as Grace Nation Liberation City, has issued a public apology to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala after a series of events that led to her arrest and eventual release by the Nigeria Police.

The apology was made during a livestream shared by some bloggers on sinday on X. In the broadcast, Eagles Sight News reports that Okafor admitted that mistakes had occurred, while at the same time rejecting many of the allegations brought against him.

“Listen, we’re not joining issues. Mistakes have been made in the past. And I tender apology to everybody,” the cleric said.

Although he expressed regret, Okafor insisted that several claims made against him were untrue.

“But everything that was said is not true. Everything, take note, everything that was said was never true. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said,” he stated.

He nevertheless offered a direct apology to Ogala and others he acknowledged may have been hurt.
“But be it. I say I am sorry to everyone I have offended. To Doris Ogala, I also say sorry,” he said.

The pastor further stated his willingness to correct any wrongdoing.
“And I apologize to everyone that I have offended. And once again, I repeat this. I’m ready to make restitution to anyone,” he added.

Okafor described the apology as both personal and public, emphasising humility and accountability.

“And anybody, any lady, anywhere, or man I have offended, I am sorry. Forgive me. I am not perfect. I’ve never been perfect,” he said, adding, “I’m kneeling down before everyone. And before the church.”

The apology follows a tense period surrounding Ogala’s arrest and release. The actress was reportedly rearrested in Abuja shortly after securing bail and was later transported to Lagos by officers from the Zone 2 Command.
Reports indicate that the situation worsened when Ogala’s lawyer,

Marshal Abubakar, attempted to document police activities, an action that allegedly resulted in him being assaulted and his phones confiscated.

Ogala was eventually released in Lagos last Monday after intervention from a Take It Back Movement coordinator, Jamiu Towolawi, also known as Jharmo.
Eagles Sight News also gathered that Okafor later met with Ogala at the Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan, Lagos, where he appealed for reconciliation and peace.

According to a report seen on SaharaReporters, a source disclosed that the cleric “fell flat on his knees and begged” Ogala during a private meeting that reportedly lasted close to an hour. Following the meeting, the police released the actress on “health grounds,” with Towolawi standing as her surety.

The conflict between Ogala and Okafor reportedly began after the actress accused the pastor of failing to fulfil a promise to marry her.
Through her legal representatives, Synergy Law Partners, Ogala demanded N1 billion in damages, citing emotional trauma, damage to her reputation and financial losses. She alleged that the relationship, said to have started in 2017, included marriage promises, introductions to family members and substantial financial dealings, including an alleged transfer of N45 million.
