New Update Emerges on Death of Peju Ogunmola’s Only Son — Nollywood Mourns

The Nigerian movie industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of Ayomikun Oluwanisola Ogunmola, also known as Shina, the only son of veteran actress Peju Ogunmola and late actor Korede Ogunmola.

Eagles Sight News gathers that Shina, who had just completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, died on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, after a bathroom accident while abroad, Naijanews  quoted Newsmaker , adding that  family sources said he slipped, fell, and, sadly, could not get help in time.

The tragic loss has left his mother devastated, while colleagues and friends in Nollywood have continued to send condolences and prayers to the grieving family.

Popular actor Odunlade Adekola described the incident as a “big loss,” praying for God’s comfort for Peju Ogunmola and the entire family. Femi Adebayo also expressed his sadness, noting that life had “written a line too heavy for the stage.” Actress Biola Adebayo called the news “devastating and heartbreaking.”

The family is yet to release an official statement, and funeral arrangements have not been made public. However, tributes continue to pour in across social media, with fans and colleagues remembering Shina as a promising young man whose life was cut short too soon.
