Just In: Makinde Inaugurates Implementation C’ttee For Emmanuel Alayande University Of Education
A recent update gathered by Eaglessightnews’ on the newly certified Emmanuel Alayande University of Education affirms that Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde has Inaugurated the Implementation and Secretariat Committees for the newly established Emmanuel Alayande University .Westernmirror reports.
Governor Makinde during the inauguration also vowed to leave a legacy of sound and qualitative education with the people saying the new university of education will soon become a topmost institution in Nigeria for acquisition of degrees in the field of education.
Governor Makinde made this known today in Ibadan during the inauguration of the two committees saddled with the responsibility of laying a strong foundation for smooth and effective take off of the new institution.
“When we came in, this was in May, what we met on ground for LAUTECH was that Oyo state would pay subvention from January to June and then Osun state would pay from July to December. So, when I came in I paid the one for May and then I paid the one for June, and I was expecting that Osun state would take over but we were having stories. So myself and Professor Omole sat down and discussed, and said well, we are going after the sole ownership thing anyway so, we might as well just start paying.
“Then, when we got to NUC for the sole ownership three or four months later, that was one of the strongest point for us. They could not say we can not pay because we have been paying for this period, So, we have demonstrated that capacity. So, my answer is that those critics, I mean not even our regular supporters, should vote omituntun 2.0, and then we can show them how we will repeat that feat.” The Governor said.
While dousing concerns of some of the staffers of the old Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Governor Makinde assured that the his administration will be mindful of the intricacies especially those feeling they may not fit into the new system.
Chairman of the implementation Committee, Professor Omole Ayodeji, in his brief remarks, appreciated the Governor for the opportunity to serve the state in the new capacity.
He noted that the assignment before the Committee is not new but it’s a big task that must be accomplished. Prof Omole promised that the committee will do its best to be able to deliver in good term while promising to discharge their duties with courage and integrity.
