Just In: Soldiers Storm In As Protest Breaks Out At The University Of Ibadan Gate Over Cash Crunch, Scarcity of Fuel, Others
Eagle’s Sight News reports that on Monday morning, Some Protesters, took to the gate of the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, to lament and express their dissatisfaction over the ongoing economic chaos in the country, particularly the scarcity of fuel and the new Naira notes.
As contained in a report by Punch, members of the community barricaded the institution’s gate, thereby preventing vehicular movement and other activities.
Eagle’s Sight News recalls, that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, during solidarity broadcast had warned against any form of violences as a result of the protest, adding that the security agents are on high alert as some elements aim is to hijack the protest and turn it to riot.
Meanwhile, to curb the protest, an updated report affirmed that Operation Burst officers had arrived the scene.
