Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for taking frequent foreign trips while Nigeria grapples with worsening insecurity and economic hardship. Eagles Sight News has gathered.

In a post shared on his X account on Friday, September 5, 2025, Obi stated it was troubling that the President seemed “not finding his home in Nigeria conducive for a long stay.”

Obi noted that Tinubu reportedly embarked on another foreign journey just six days after returning from a 15-day trip, marking his 10th visit to France in two years.

He emphasized: “From all indications, our President is not finding his home in Nigeria conducive for a long stay, and it should be concerning to us,” and added, “No holiday is more important than the Nigerian lives you swore to protect.”

Obi also highlighted critical national challenges, stating that 79% of Nigerians are facing food insecurity, alongside recent tragic events including a Katsina mosque attack, widespread kidnappings, and a fatal boat accident in Niger State.

His comments have sparked heated discussion online, with some Nigerians supporting his plea for the President’s presence, while others argue that foreign visits may involve important diplomatic or economic engagements.
