A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former member of the House of Representatives for Ibadan North Constituency, Honourable Waheed Aderemi Gbede, has formally declared his intention to contest the Oyo South Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a letter addressed to the party leadership in Oyo State, a copy of which was made available to Eagles Sight News, Gbede stated that his decision aligns with his constitutional right to participate in the democratic process and represent the people under the PDP platform.

The aspirant, a native of Ibadan North Local Government, described himself as a committed party stalwart with a long-standing passion for service and grassroots representation.

He recalled his previous tenure in the National Assembly, where he represented Ibadan North between 2007 and 2011, noting that his record in office remains commendable.

Gbede appealed to party leaders to grant him another opportunity to serve the people of Oyo South Senatorial District as a senator in the 11th National Assembly in 2027.

He also pledged loyalty to the party’s constitution, manifesto, and guiding principles, reaffirming his commitment to discipline, unity, and progress within the PDP.
