Erudite Scholar, Professor Babajide Dasaolu to Deliver OOU 126th Inaugural Lecture on Ethical Issues of ‘Animal-Witches”

Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, is preparing to hold its 126th Inaugural Lecture, an academic event dedicated to intellectual reflection and scholarly discourse within the university community.

Eagles Sight News gathers  that the lecture will be delivered by Professor Babajide Olugbenga Dasaolu, a Professor of Philosophy (African and Applied Ethics) and Dean of the Faculty of Arts. His presentation is titled: “For the ‘Animal-Witches’ We Kill in the Name of God: A Moralist’s Petition.”

The theme is expected to critically examine the intersection of morality, religion, and cultural beliefs, particularly focusing on acts of violence justified through spiritual or religious interpretations. It seeks to encourage deeper reflection on human responsibility, ethics, and superstition in modern society.

The session will be presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Ayodeji O. J. Agboola, highlighting the institution’s continued dedication to academic excellence and scholarly engagement.

– Venue: OGD Lecture Theatre, Main Campus, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye
