“No More Monkey Dey Work, Baboon Dey Chop” MAKINDE Goes Tough With LAUTECH ASUU On Strike
Eagle’s Sight News confirms that Oyo State Governor ,Engr Seyi Makinde, has stated to stop paying both the teaching and non teaching staff of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso if they continue to be on strike.
While speaking on BCOS TV during a program tagged ‘Epade Gomina’ to mark his 3rd year in office, Gov Seyi Makinde during an interractive session was quoted to have stated to embark on no work no salary policy.
Eagle’s Sight news recalls that last month, it reported that the staff said they won’t resume work despite the school management sudden announcement of resumption of activities, stressing that they are still actively involved in National strike.
According to the Governor while reacting to this on the said programme on BCOS Tv
“If LAUTECH lecturers are sensitive to the people, they won’t join ASUU strike. I’ve suspend paying their subvention fund until they resume.
“I’ll only pay the salary of those lecturers that return back to class” –
Speaking further, Governor Seyi Makinde said if the lecturers were sensitive, they should not have joined the industrial action.
According to him, “As of today, their subvention is being withhold. If they don’t go back to school, I won’t pay their subvention.”
“The students must know who to hold accountable. We expect 100 per cent cooperation but some want to play politics.
“We will only pay those who return to their duties. I don’t care whether it’s an election year. I will only do what is right till the last day of the tenure.”
