Oyo government celebrates TUC chairman, Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, on emergence as PENGASSAN president
The Oyo State Government has congratulated the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Oyo State Council, Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, on his emergence as the President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).
The Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal, in a statement issued on Sunday, described Olabiyi-Agoro’s emergence as a significant achievement and a positive development for PENGASSAN.
He noted that the new PENGASSAN President’s wealth of experience, exposure and commitment to workers’ welfare would contribute significantly to the growth and advancement of the association.
The Acting Governor also commended Olabiyi-Agoro for representing Oyo State with distinction, describing him as a worthy ambassador who has continued to demonstrate excellence in keeping with the state’s reputation as a pacesetter.
According to him, Governor Seyi Makinde is particularly pleased that a prominent labour leader from Oyo State, who has consistently worked with the administration to promote improved welfare and better working conditions for employees, has now been entrusted with the leadership of one of Nigeria’s foremost trade unions.
He said:
“I have just been informed that the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Oyo State Council, Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, has emerged as the President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).
“This is another positive development and a testament to the excellence for which our great state has been renowned over the years.
“I congratulate Comrade Olabiyi-Agoro, a man of purpose whose dedication to labour unionism and the advancement of workers has remained evident, on his emergence as President of PENGASSAN.
“His emergence is a welcome development for the association, and I am confident that he will deploy his wealth of experience, knowledge and leadership capacity towards taking PENGASSAN to greater heights.
“While celebrating this achievement, I want to reiterate that the Seyi Makinde administration will continue to maintain a cordial and productive relationship with labour unions and their leaders in the state.
“This is with a view to advancing policies that promote improved welfare for workers, strengthen industrial harmony and ultimately deliver good governance and better living conditions for the people of Oyo State.”
