BREAKING: MAKINDE DECLARES PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION AT PDP/APM UNITY RALLY

A significant political development took place in Oyo State on Thursday as Governor Seyi Makinde publicly unveiled his presidential ambition during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Unity Mega Rally held at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan.
The rally venue was filled with excitement as thousands of party supporters, stakeholders, coalition partners, youths, and women groups gathered for the alliance programme between the PDP and APM.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Governor Makinde declared that Nigerians are witnessing “the birth of the Reset Nigeria Movement,” which he described as a political initiative focused on rebuilding the country and restoring democratic principles, inclusiveness, and quality governance nationwide.
Speaking on the nation’s democratic system, the governor stressed that “without a multi-party system, there is no democracy,” while emphasizing the need for like-minded political groups to unite in order to address the challenges confronting Nigeria.
Makinde also spoke extensively about the new political alliance, stating that the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) would present candidates for all elective positions in future elections, including the presidency, governorship, National Assembly, and State House of Assembly seats.
Expressing confidence in the strength of the coalition, the governor declared that the APM “shall emerge victorious,” a statement that triggered massive cheers from supporters at the rally ground.
Political observers believe the development could significantly influence the build-up to the 2027 general elections, with many already describing the Ibadan gathering as a major turning point in the country’s political evolution.
The event attracted notable political figures, party leaders, grassroots mobilizers, and supporters from different parts of Oyo State and beyond, all united in what participants described as a fresh movement for national renewal.
