Akeem Olatunji Inspects Ongoing Remodeling Of LG Customary Court, Other Projects

…Visits Selected Schools As Students Rounds Off Free Holiday Coaching

As part of measures to ensure the continued progress of key infrastructural developments and to evaluate strategic educational support initiatives for junior and senior secondary students, the executive chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, yesterday led top officials of the Council on a comprehensive inspection tour of various ongoing projects and educational schools in the LG.

The inspection according to the Council boss aimed to ensure full compliance with standard and specifications on several ongoing infrastructure projects with ultra modern facilities, including the remodeling of a building for a new Oluyole LG Customary Court, the expansion of public facilities, and improvements to community utilities.

Other ongoing projects that Olatunji inspected yesterday include remodeling of a multipurpose building complex designed to serve as administrative offices for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), National Population Commission (NPC), and Vigilante Group.

The Council is also remodeling another building inside the LG secretariat, Idi-Ayunre, to serve as the new headquarters of Western Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corp, Oluyole local government Division.

Speaking shortly after the inspection yesterday, the Chairman disclosed that the projects were in fulfillment of his administration’s commitment to his electoral promises to align with the state government and domesticate Governor Seyi Makinde’s Sustainable Development Agenda at the grassroots for the purpose of cohesion in policies and programs.

During his inspection, he praised the quality of work being done and emphasized the importance of timely completion to benefit local residents.

Similarly, the Chairman disclosed that several other projects that have already been completed since his assumption of office include the overhauling and refurbishment of a moribund lowbed tractor and pickup for agricultural use as well as remodeling of Amotekun offices at Onila (ward 3) and ongoing construction of a new office for security agency at Ayegun (ward 1).

Additionally, Olatunji also visited some selected junior and senior secondary schools that are just rounding off a free holiday coaching program for students ahead of their resumption for the new academic term.

The beneficiary schools in the holiday coaching include Muslem Grammar School, Muslim area, Jogbin Community Grammar School, Jogbin, Molete High School, New Garage, and Prospect High School, Aba-nla, all across Wards 2, 4, 7 and 8), Oluyole local government.

The holiday coaching program, which was launched to provide additional educational support during the just concluded holiday was highly commended by teachers and other teaching volunteers for its positive impact on students’ academic performance.

Olatunji, who had a brief interaction with the students at Muslem Grammar school noted that the last inspection visit to the participating schools in the fully funded free holiday coaching by the Local Government aimed to gather feedback on the program’s effectiveness and how the initiative could be improved upon for future educational initiatives.

He assured that the various ongoing projects will be ready for commissioning soon.

“I want to say that the ongoing remodeling of these buildings for to serve various critical purposes in line with our electoral promises to domestic the laudable approach to governance under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde is in line with the Governor’s Sustainable Development Agenda under Omituntun 2.0.

” We’re already at the final stages of these projects as you can see the Oluyole local government Customary Court is fully completed with ultra modern facilities and its furnitures are already arriving. This will aid administration of justice system at the grassroots.

“The multipurpose building complex for administrative purpose for the Nigeria Immigration Service, OYSIEC, National Population Commission, Vigilante Group, and another building remodeling for Amotekun headquarters in Oluyole are all part of our broader plan to build sustainable democratic institutions that would outlive our administration even after we’re no more here.

“Seeing the progress on our infrastructure and the enthusiasm of students who have benefited from the free holiday coaching is truly gratifying and I must emphasize that we will not rest until we give our people the better life they truly deserve.

“These projects and programs are critical to our grassroots development drive and the educational success of our children. I remain committed to ensuring that we continue to build and consolidate on our accomplishments at the grassroots in every way possible.

In the Chairman’s entourage were the HLGA, Alhaja Qudirat Noibi, Councillor representing ward 4, Honorable Oyedele Shina, and other top officials of the local government.
