Olajide Odidiomo Demands Urgent Federal Intervention in Ibarapaland, Seeks Revitalisation of Igangan Grazing Reserve
The Oyo South Senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide Odidiomo, has called on the Federal Government to urgently address the infrastructure deficit and security challenges confronting Ibarapaland, stressing the need for a stronger federal presence to unlock the region’s economic potential.

Hon. Olajide made the call while speaking at the Second Annual Diocesan Harvest of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Ibarapa Diocese, held at the Rev. Longley Memorial Methodist Cathedral, Oke-Agogo, Igboora, in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The lawmaker, who currently represents Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, identified the revitalisation of the Igangan Grazing Reserve, the restoration of the relocated Army barracks in Lanlate, and improvements in telecommunications infrastructure as critical priorities for the region.
He maintained that Ibarapaland deserves more than routine federal agency operations, calling for deliberate interventions that would strengthen security, stimulate agricultural productivity, create employment opportunities and improve the quality of life of residents.
Reflecting on the harvest theme, “Harvest of Fruitfulness,” Olajide commended the Methodist Church for its contributions to national development, moral discipline and quality education.
He expressed personal pride in his connection to the church’s educational legacy, noting that his experience as an alumnus of Methodist High School, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, Toll Gate, Ibadan, helped shape his values of character, discipline and service.
According to him, true fruitfulness must go beyond celebrations and translate into tangible improvements in the lives of the people. He observed that despite Ibarapaland’s vast agricultural potential and hardworking population, the region continues to face significant development gaps in federal infrastructure and institutional presence.
Drawing attention to the cultural and economic opportunities showcased during the recent World Twins Festival in Igboora, the lawmaker urged government authorities and private investors to harness the area’s unique heritage to promote tourism, youth employment, rural development and local enterprise.
Unveils 2027 Senatorial Development Agenda
As he prepares to contest for the Oyo South Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections, Olajide Odidiomo pledged to prioritise the development needs of Ibarapaland through effective legislative representation, sustained advocacy and strategic collaboration with federal agencies, the Oyo State Government and traditional rulers.
He outlined plans to pursue increased federal investment in education, healthcare, skills acquisition, digital connectivity, electricity and rural road networks.
The APM candidate also emphasised the importance of ensuring that the proposed development of the Igangan Grazing Reserve protects the interests of host communities while promoting agricultural growth and creating sustainable economic opportunities for residents.
He reiterated his commitment to advancing the interests of Ibarapaland and other communities across Oyo South Senatorial District, stressing that purposeful representation must deliver practical solutions to the people’s challenges.
Olajide’s call underscores the growing demand for targeted federal intervention to address the region’s infrastructure and security concerns while transforming its agricultural resources and cultural heritage into drivers of inclusive development.
