In a recent and tragic update gathered by Eagles Sight News , a former ADC to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Moses Jituboh, has passed away, according to sources close to the family.
Autopsy Investigation Begins
Jituboh, 54, died on Friday after a brief illness, the source confirmed. “Yes, your information is correct. I can confirm that he (Moses Jituboh) is dead. I just got off the phone with a community chief. Efforts are currently ongoing to carry out an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.”
During his time in service, Jituboh served as Jonathan’s ADC while he was governor of Bayelsa State and Vice President. He remained a key member of Jonathan’s security team when he became President.
After the 2015 presidential election, Jituboh returned to his police duties. At one point, he was considered for the position of Inspector General of Police but did not secure the appointment.
The Zone 16 Police Command has extended condolences to the Jituboh family and the people of Bayelsa State. In a statement, AIG Zone 16 Adebola Hamzat expressed his condolences, saying, “expresses condolence to the immediate family and the good people of Bayelsa state over the death of Bayelsa Born DIG Moses Ambakina Jituboh, mni.”
According to the statement, Jituboh enlisted in the Police Force on June 10, 1994, as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. His contributions to the Nigeria Police Force, dedication to service, and integrity were highlighted.
Before his retirement in 2023, Jituboh served as DIG in charge of the Department of Research and Planning and DIG Department of Information & Communications Technology (ICT), Force Headquarters.
The statement described his passing as a great loss, saying, “The passing of DIG Moses Ambakina Jituboh is a great loss, not only to the immediate family but to the entire Bayelsa State, Nigeria Police Force, and the nation at large.”
The Zone 16 Police Command offered its condolences, saying, “It is our prayer that God will give the immediate family the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss of your beloved son. On behalf of the entire officers and men of the zone, please accept the heartfelt condolences of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 16 Command.”
