Hon. Olufunke-Comforter Attends Ashifau Islamic Society Ramadan Tafsir in Ibadan
The Oyo State House of Assembly lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency I and House Committee Chairperson on Women Affairs, Hon. Olufunke-Comforter Comforter Adeniyi Olajide, has honoured the invitation to attend the Ramadan Tafsir organised by the Ashifau Islamic Society of Nigeria in Ibadan.
The Islamic gathering, held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Gate 1, Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan, attracted Muslim faithful, political leaders, traditional rulers and other dignitaries who assembled for spiritual reflection during the holy month of Ramadan.
The event was organised by His Eminence, Alhaji (Dr.) Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, and Aare of Ibadanland. The Ashifau Islamic Society of Nigeria, according to him, was established in honour of his late mother to promote Islamic teachings and charitable activities in line with the tenets of Islam.
Among dignitaries present at the Tafsir were the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Bayo Lawal; the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin; the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abiodun Mohammed Fadeyi; Hon. Olufunke-Comforter Comforter Adeniyi Olajide; the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja; members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, local government chairmen, and other prominent personalities from across the state.
Hon. Olufunke-Comforter Comforter Adeniyi Olajide, while honouring the invitation, commended the organisers for creating a platform that encourages spiritual growth, moral discipline and unity among Muslims during the sacred period of Ramadan.
The highlight of the event was the Ramadan lecture delivered by Sheikh Jamiu Sanusi AmiOlohun, who emphasised the importance of piety, patience and charity as key lessons of the Ramadan season.
The well-attended Tafsir also served as an avenue for Muslims and community leaders to reflect on faith, promote peaceful coexistence and strengthen communal bonds within Ibadan and beyond.
