BREAKING: Reps Member, Adepoju ‘Ibarapa Kan’, Resigns From PDP, Reveals Reason

According to the information gathered by Eaglessightnews in a resignation letter dated May 5, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Chairman, Ward 4, Isale Penbo, Igbo-Ora, Adepoju cited the lingering internal crisis within the party in Oyo State and across his constituency as the reason for his decision.
“I write to tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to the unresolved internal conflicts that have ravaged the party, not only in my constituency but also across the Pacesetter State in the past few months,” the letter read.
The federal lawmaker noted that he had remained loyal and dedicated to the ideals of the PDP since securing the party’s ticket in 2022, which led to his victory at the 2023 general elections.
“To me, the PDP is not just a political party, it is an association in which my father, the late Asiwaju of Igbo-Ora, Dr. Amos Ademola Adepoju, was a founding father in 1998 and also served as its National Financial Secretary between 1999 and 2002,” he stated.
Adepoju further explained that the crisis rocking the party had negatively affected his assignment as a lawmaker and created deep cracks within the party’s leadership.
“This resignation is made to allow me to focus on the mandate given to me by the people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North and to serve them to the best of my ability,” he added.
He, however, assured his supporters that his next political move would be made known in due course.
