ODIDIOMO TAKES 2027 DEVELOPMENT AGENDA TO IDO, IBARAPA-EAST CDCs

The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) senatorial candidate for Oyo south senatorial district, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, has taken his 2027 campaign agenda to grassroots community leaders in Ido and Ibarapa-East local government areas, unveiling a “social pact” focused on education, agriculture, healthcare, technology, employment and infrastructure development.
Odidiomo made the declaration on thursday, during an interactive session with members of the Community Development Councils (CDC’s) of Ido and Ibarapa-East at their general meeting. He told the stakeholders that he was at the meeting to establish a development agreement with the communities, promising that his proposed representation would be built around a direct partnership with grassroots structures.
Presenting his agenda, the APM candidate outlined a five component Oyo south education and skills empowerment programme, comprising student scholarships, youth technical and vocational education and training (TVET), digital and Artificial Intelligence training for teachers, ICT and science laboratory interventions, as well as technology and entrepreneurship grants. He said the programme was designed to equip young people with practical skills and educational opportunities capable of preparing them for an economy driven by technology, skills and innovation.
Agriculture, he said, would also occupy a central position in his development agenda for Ibarapa, through the Ibarapa agriculture empowerment and value chain programme. The programme, according to Odidiomo, would provide support for youth agripreneurs and smallholder farmers, establish an agricultural equipment bank and an Ibarapa Agro-processing hub, while introducing solar irrigation, farmers’ cooperatives and market linkage mechanisms, as well as an Agricultural Financing Desk. He said the objective was to strengthen the agricultural value chain by giving farmers greater access to equipment, financing, irrigation, processing facilities and markets.
Odidiomo promised the facilitation of a federal medical centre for Oyo south. He referred to the presence of federal medical centres in neighbouring states, including Ikole-Ekiti, Ebute-Metta and Epe in Lagos State, Abeokuta in Ogun State and Owo in Ondo State, as examples of federal tertiary healthcare institutions serving their respective areas.
He also proposed the establishment of one ICT hub in each of the nine local government areas of Oyo south, describing the hubs as potential centres for digital skills development, technology training and youth empowerment.
Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide also unveiled the
“Light Up Oyo South Senatorial District” initiative, under which he promised the installation of 100 poles in each of the 99 wards across the nine local governments, amounting to 9,900 poles. He said the initiative was intended to improve security, extend productive hours and support commercial activities across communities.
Earlier, the Chairman of the CDC, Ido Local Government, Alhaji Ola Lasisi Bello, acknowledged what he described as Odidiomo’s philanthropic contributions to the sustenance of CDC structures across Oyo south. He said his interventions efforts predated his emergence as the APM senatorial candidate. Bello described Odidiomo as a politician who had empowered thousands of Oyo indigenes with skills and urged stakeholders to support his development vision and called on residents to mobilize support for the APM candidate ahead of the election.
The stakeholders’ meeting attracted political and community leaders, including the Oyo State governor’s representative, Hon. Akano Matthew, Special Adviser on Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency; the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, council secretary, Hon. Kamorudeen Gbadamosi; Chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Kamorudeen Aderibigbe; Chief Imam of Ansarudeen Mosque, Omi-Adio, CDC Chairman, Ido Local Government, Engr. L.T. Salaudeen; CDC Chairman, Ibarapa East Local Government, Alhaji Ola Lasisi Bello; APM chairmanship candidate Ido LG, Barrister Fasina Olayemi, and his running mate, Ibrahim Do Jango. Also present were Hon. Wasiu Emiola Emma, APM chairman in Ido Local Government, Chief J.T.O. Somite, Chairman of Ologuneru Leaders Forum, and other political and community stakeholders.
