Breaking:Last-Ditch-Effort As FG Extends Olive Branch to Labour Leaders, Calls For An Emergency Meeting Tuesday

In a bid to resolve the ongoing nationwide strike, the Federal Government has invited labour leaders for emergency talks on Tuesday.

The strike, which has entered its second day, has paralysed economic activities across the country. The labour unions are demanding a new National Minimum Wage Act and a reversal of the recent electricity tariff hike. The government’s offer of N60,000 falls far short of the labour unions’ demand of N494,000, leading to a stalemate in negotiations.

The Federal Government’s invitation for talks is seen as a last-ditch effort to end the strike, which has caused widespread disruptions and economic losses. The labour leaders are yet to confirm their attendance, but sources indicate that they may consider the offer if the government shows willingness to compromise on their demands.

The strike has affected various sectors, including healthcare, education, and transportation, leaving millions of Nigerians stranded. The government’s move to extend an olive branch is a ray of hope in resolving the crisis, but only time will tell if it will yield a positive outcome.
