BREAKING: Sheun Ashamu Emerges as Consensus Candidate for Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba/Afijio Federal Constituency

Sheun Ashamu has emerged as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) consensus candidate for the Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba/Afijio Federal Constituency following decisive intervention by the Oyo State Governor during high-level consultations among party leaders and stakeholders.

Eagles Sight News reports that Oyo State Governor ,Engr Seyi Makinde played  a pivotal role in brokering the agreement that produced Ashamu as the preferred candidate, in a move aimed at fostering unity and strengthening the party’s chances ahead of the forthcoming elections.

As part of the arrangement, the Governor reportedly directed Ashamu to tender his resignation as Commissioner for Environment, noting that other party members are also seeking opportunities to serve in the state executive council.

Ashamu, who currently serves as the Commissioner for Environment, is said to have accepted the directive in the interest of party cohesion and the overall development of the constituency.

His emergence follows a series of consensus meetings designed to streamline aspirants and present a united front. Further details are expected as reactions continue to trail the development.
