Veteran Nollywood Actor Taiwo Hassan ‘Ogogo’ Dies at 66

Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo, has reportedly passed away at the age of 66 after battling cancer.

The respected Yoruba actor is said to have died on Sunday following his prolonged illness. A video making the rounds online showed his daughter, Kira Taiwo, visibly emotional as she announced her father’s death, repeatedly saying, “My daddy is dead.”

The reported death comes only days after Kira and her sister, Haleemah, disclosed that their father was undergoing treatment for Stage 4 cancer and appealed to the public for assistance as the family explored possible treatment options.

Taiwo Hassan was one of the well-known faces in Nigeria’s film industry, particularly in Yoruba-language movies, where he built a lasting reputation through decades of acting.

His reported passing is a significant loss to Nollywood and his many fans and colleagues across Nigeria.
