Oyo Lawmaker, Waheed Akintayo ‘Ilumoka’ Illuminates Oluyole: Five More Communities Benefit From Solar Project*

In a continued effort to enhance security and boost economic activities at the grassroots, Hon. Waheed Akintayo, the lawmaker representing Oluyole State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has extended his Light Up Constituency Project to five additional communities.

The communities are Surulere, Oorelope, Isale Alfa, Pabielesin, Mi ofe akoba.

Popularly known by his broadcast nickname **”Ilumoka Presenter,”** the lawmaker distributed the high-capacity solar-powered street lights, fulfilling a promise made during his recent constituency engagement tours.

Speaking shortly after the distribution, Hon Akintayo said the latest phase of the project targets key hubs within the Oluyole local government area, focusing on areas with high evening foot traffic and vulnerable dark spots.

He said the five beneficiary communities were selected based on immediate needs for improved visibility and safety.

Hon. Akintayo emphasized that his approach to quality representation is rooted in constant dialogue with his constituents.

“Oluyole is vast, and our needs are diverse. By engaging directly with the leadership of these communities, we ensure that our interventions, like these solar lights, are placed exactly where they will have the most impact on the lives of the common man,” Akintayo stated.

He further noted that the initiative aligns with the “Omituntun 2.0” agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Reacting, the communities’ General Chairman, Mr Oladokun Mutiu who spoke on behalf of others, expressed their gratitude for the lawmaker’s consistency. Commending him for not being a seasonal politician.

He said “These lights will help our night guards and help our women who sell petty goods by the roadside within the community. It would also boost security in the areas at night, thank you for the gesture”

Beyond the solar project, Hon. Akintayo’s tenure has been marked by several key achievements, including, Provision of free transportation for school pupils within the constituency, Ongoing construction of a modern Police Station at the Muslim axis to bolster regional security, Facilitation of a primary healthcare center at Onila through the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA).

In attendance were, Hon Luku Salau, former Member OYHA represent Oluyole; Hon Fatai Ogunrin; Hon Sikiru Olowoake, former Councillor Ward 4; Hon Shina Oyedele Councillor Ward 4; Comrade Ganiyu Ismaila Leader ward 7; Mrs Nike Adekunle, local Government Women Leader; Mr Mojeed Raji (IYAN) Chairman Ward 7; Mr Moses Ojo, Chairman Ward 3 and other party stakeholders.
