The immediate past Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Waheed Akanbi, Omojoobiiro, has officially declared his intention to vie for the forthcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election seat.

Hon , Biiro disclosed his intention at the Ibadan North PDP Secretariat during the party meeting on Wednesday.

Earlier , Eagle’s Sight News gathered from sources that the bye-elections across the country, announced by INEC, will possibly hold in January or February 2025. This development is coming   after over five months of the passing of Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, fondly called Jagaban, who represented the Ibadan North federal constituency.

In a bold move, Honorable Waheed Akanbi Biiro got the residents of Ibadan North excited on Wednesday after disclosing  his intention to contest for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency Election and dozed out  millions of naira to party members.

Hon Omojoobiiro, who hails from ward 3 of Ibadan North Local Government while addressing the party members and the residents over his intention, boldly declared his competency , citing  references to the past achievements when he was in office as the executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local , adding that his experience and achievements are apparent evidences that he is competent and the best candidate for the seat.

While declaring Biiro’s intention to vye for the federal Constituency Seat in the coming bye election, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government and PDP Vice Chairman at the local government, Hon. Seun Olufade and Hon. Mustapha Ademuyiwa, in their remarks, emphasized the need for collaboration to win the coming bye-election, stressing that the victory will come from everybody’s sincere efforts .

Gracing the occasion , in the Executive Chairman of Oluyole, Akeem Olatunji, and Executive Chairman of Akinyele, Wole Akinleye, in their remarks , applauded Governor Makinde for the opportunity given to everyone to serve, they noted in their remarks that their presence is to solidarize and give full support for PDP to win the forth coming Ibadan North federal Constituency bye-election, adding that the party’s victory is sure with the efforts of the party members.

Biiro, while speaking to Eagle’s Sight News, reiterated his competency for the Ibadan North federal Representative position under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party, revealed his past achievements and experience.

He said, “As a dedicated public servant, I have consistently demonstrated my commitment to the welfare of my constituents, and my impressive track record of performance in various roles makes me an ideal candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency Vacant.”

Biiro said, “Notably, I was appointed as the Ibadan North Local Government Caretaker Chairman in 2020 by Governor Seyi Makinde. After my tenure, I was elected as the Vice Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government and also served as the Political Head of Aare Latosa LCDA in Ibadan North. Eventually, I became the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government.”

Speaking further , Hon Omojoobiiro, said the masses at Ibadan North Local Government know him for his kind gestures.

Biiro also highlighted his past achievements before when in office as the executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government. He said ,”I prioritized infrastructure development, security, education, youths, and women empowerment among others.

Hon. Omojoobiiro, after splashing millions of naira, a gesture that is not new to him, also promised that if he is considered the best candidate at the primary poll, he will ensure that the masses at his constituency and the local government enjoy the dividends of democracy. “This donation is just a token of my commitment to the party’s progress and my constituents’ well-being.” Biiro said.

Present at his official declaration were notable PDP chieftains and executives, including Hon. Seun Olufade, Hon. Mustapha Ademuyiwa, Hon. Wole Akinyele, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, and Baba Ismaila ASHIPA.
