A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to express her disappointment after travelling for about 10 hours to meet a man she had been talking to on Snapchat, only to discover that he was not exactly who she thought he was.
The lady, identified on TikTok as @NomzyRN, said she travelled from Lagos to Abia State to finally meet the young man physically after building a relationship with him online.
According to her, the encounter turned out to be a disappointing experience as she felt she had been catfished. She alleged that the man was living with his sisters and also had a missing front tooth, details she claimed were not disclosed during their online interactions.
The lady further lamented the risks she took by embarking on the lengthy journey amid the country’s security challenges.
In her words:
“POV: you took a 10 hours bus from Lagos to Abia to go and finally meet the guy you met on snap. I’ve been catfished guys, he’s even living with his sisters and he has no front tooth. After risking my life with the current bandit situation.”
Her post quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from social media users.
