Group Lambasts Teslim Folarin Over Unruly Behavior Of His Supporters At Lam Adesina 10th anniversary Remembrance.

A Foremost Socio-political Group, The GSMists, has lambasted the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Senator Teslim Folarin and the son of former Governor of Oyo State, Hon. Dapo Lam-Adesina over the embarrassing treatment meted out to the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, His Excellency Barrister Bayo Lawal at an event held in Ibadan to mark the 10th anniversary of the demise of Alhaji Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina, former Governor of Oyo State.

According to a statement, signed by The GSMists State Coordinator, Hon Yomi Olajide (Royal Umbrella) made available to newsmen, in Ibadan, the organization described the attitude of Folarin’s supporters at the event as not only shameful, but a cause for concern. They said it was obvious that Folarin and his supporters did not know when to draw the line between political issues and matters of humanity.

It would be recalled that the Deputy Governor, Chief Bayo Lawal, who represented the Governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde, at the event, was prevented from delivering his goodwill message by supporters of Teslim Folarin.

Hon “Yomi Royal” held that the least Senator Folarin could have done was call his supporters to order. According to him, Folarin sat and watched as his supporters desecrated the memory of one of the state’s greatest. He held that it was disgraceful and a clear indication that the APC candidate never knew the man called Lam.

Continuing, The GSMists Coordinator added that it was disturbing and should be disconcerting for right-thinking members of the public, if a Governorship Candidate could engineer the disrespect of the Government’s representative at an event. He held that it meant Folarin did not know the purpose of the office that he aspires to.

The group called on the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress to spend the next four years attending an etiquette class and also organise same for his supporters rather than spending scarce resources in the futile pursuit of a governorship aspiration that will end in tears.

The group also took a swipe at the son of the late governor, Hon. Dapo Lam, for condoning the disrespect shown the state government at the event to honor his late father. They said that Hon. Lam, who is the APCs House of Representative candidate for Ibadan Southeast and Northeast Federal Constituency, would have done well to restrain the motley crew which his Party’s Governorship candidate surrounds himself with. They advised Hon Lam not to look up to the likes of Folarin whose reputation in the political space is a source of mental discomfort to members of his Party and family.

The GSMists further called on Hon Dapo Lam to apologise to Barrister Bayo Lawal and dissociate himself from the disgraceful behaviour of Mr Folarin and his supporters. They said he should remember that the Deputy Governor was a political associate of his illustrious late father, recall that the Deputy Governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal served as the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice between 1999 and 2003 under Governor Lam Adesina’s administration.

Lastly, the group praised Barrister Bayo Lawal for exhibiting a high level of civility, being unruffled despite the unruly and brigandage behaviour of the Senator Teslim’s rascals. The statement described the Deputy Governor as a quintessential gentleman whose display of maturity and coolness in face of provocation emphasizes his distinct leadership qualities which required studying by future leaders.
