APM Affirms Odidiomo As Oyo South Senatorial Candidate Ahead Of 2027 Election
Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, member representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, has emerged as the senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) for Oyo south senatorial district of Oyo state ahead of the 2027 general election.
The emergence of the two-term federal lawmaker followed the party’s primary election and affirmation exercise conducted across the nine local government areas of the senatorial district.
The affirmation process, according to party stakeholders, was a follow up to an earlier consensus arrangement reached among leaders and stakeholders of the party within the district.
Olajide’s nomination was subsequently affirmed by the nine local government chairmen of the Allied Peoples’ Movement in Oyo south senatorial district in the presence of party executives, stakeholders and supporters.
The exercise, which was monitored by the electoral regulatory body INEC, party officials and delegates, was described as peaceful, transparent and orderly, reflecting the growing unity and internal cohesion within the party ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Speaking shortly after the affirmation process, Olajide expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them of effective representation and responsive leadership.
According to him, the senatorial mandate represents a collective responsibility aimed at expanding development, quality representation and inclusive governance across the nine local government areas of Oyo south senatorial district.
“This is not about personal ambition alone. It is about the collective aspirations of our people and the desire to bring quality representation, grassroots development and progressive leadership across Oyo south senatorial district,” he stated.
The federal lawmaker further pledged to sustain constituency driven initiatives capable of improving the welfare and living conditions of the people.
Olajide noted that his years at the House of Representatives have provided him with the legislative exposure, grassroots connection and governance experience required to effectively represent the interests of Oyo south at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.
He also assured residents of the district that youth empowerment, digital economy initiatives, educational support, infrastructural development, security advocacy and economic inclusion would remain key priorities of his legislative agenda if elected into the senate.
