Hon Folajimi Oyekunle Returns Unopposed as PDP Consensus Candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency

Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, the incumbent Member of the House of Representatives for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, has returned unopposed as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) consensus candidate ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Eagles Sight News reports that the development was officially pronounced by Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, following a series of consultations and unanimous agreement among party leaders, elders, and key stakeholders within the constituency aimed at fostering unity and strengthening the PDP’s electoral chances.

Hon. Oyekunle, popularly known as “Don,” currently represents Ibadan North in the Green Chamber. He first assumed office after winning a bye-election conducted following the demise of the former APC lawmaker, Hon. Musiliu Akinremi Olajide.

According to party sources, his return as consensus candidate was based on his legislative performance, wide acceptability across party structures, and commitment to party cohesion and grassroots representation.

Stakeholders within the PDP have described the governor’s pronouncement as a strategic move that reinforces stability within the party and positions it strongly ahead of the general elections.

With this development, Hon. Oyekunle is expected to lead the PDP campaign in Ibadan North Federal Constituency as political activities continue to intensify.
