Father’s Day: Hon. Comforter Commends Fathers’ Dedication to Family and Community Development

The candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) for Ibadan North Constituency I and the incumbent member representing the constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olufunke Comforter Adeniyi Olajide, has congratulated fathers across Ibadan North, Oyo State, Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of this year’s Father’s Day celebration.
In a statement issued by her media team and made available to journalists on Sunday, Hon. Comforter described fathers as indispensable pillars of the family whose commitment, guidance and sacrifices contribute significantly to the stability and growth of society.
She expressed gratitude to fathers across Ibadan North, Oyo State and Nigeria for their invaluable contributions to family stability, community development and social progress.
Hon. Comforter specially commended Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for being a role model and father figure, and used him as a point of contact to celebrate other distinguished father figures across the state and Nigeria at large. She described them as worthy role models whose leadership, compassion and commitment to the welfare of the people continue to inspire many. She noted that their dedication to good governance and societal development reflects the values of responsibility, care and service that define exemplary fatherhood.
The lawmaker, who also serves as the Chairperson of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, noted that fathers play a vital role in providing leadership, protection and moral direction within the family.
She encouraged fathers to remain steadfast in their responsibilities despite prevailing economic challenges.
The lawamker also called on government institutions, religious bodies and community leaders to promote programmes and policies that support responsible parenting and family development, stressing that a healthy society begins with stable homes.
Hon Comforter further used the occasion to appreciate her husband for his love, support and encouragement, which continue to strengthen her personal and public life.
She prayed for God’s continued protection, wisdom and strength for all fathers as they serve their families and communities.
“On this special occasion of Father’s Day, I celebrate all fathers and father figures for their dedication and sacrifices. Your contributions remain invaluable to the development of our families, communities and nation. May God continue to bless and reward you abundantly,” she said.
