Just In: Wave of Defections Continues as Bisi Ilaka Resigns from PDP Joins ADC

Eagles Sight News reports that Chief Bisi Ilaka, a former Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His decision was conveyed in a resignation letter dated February 10, in which he expressed appreciation to the party for the roles and opportunities it gave him during his period of active participation in politics at both state and national levels. The letter was addressed to the PDP Ward 5 leadership in Oyi East Local Government Area.
Ilaka was appointed as Chief of Staff to Governor Makinde on May 29, 2019, immediately after the governor assumed office. He occupied the position until mid-2021 when Segun Ogunwuyi was appointed as his successor. Ogunwuyi later retained the position following Governor Makinde’s re-election in 2023.
In his message to party members, Ilaka conveyed gratitude for the support he enjoyed throughout his stay in the PDP, noting that his decision to step aside was made with respect and appreciation for the party’s contributions to his political journey.
His exit adds to the list of notable PDP members who have withdrawn their membership in recent times. One of such figures is Senator Agboola Ayoola, widely known as Alleluyah, who also left the party in October 2025.
Ayoola, a native of Itesiwaju Local Government Area, officially announced his resignation through a letter dated October 10, 2025, marking the end of his longstanding association with the PDP. Over the years, he served as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under former Governors Rashidi Ladoja and Adebayo Alao-Akala between 2003 and 2011.
He also represented the PDP as the only senator from the South-West between 2011 and 2015.
An additional update from Goalpoacher has confirmed that former Chief of Staff, Bisi Ilaka, has defected from the PDP to the ADC
